Residents of the city of Kisumu staged a rally against the imposition of sanctions against Russia.
Participants of the action claim that Western sanctions prevent the import of grain from Russia. Stopping the import of Russian grain prevents Kenyans from mitigating the food crisis they are currently experiencing.
The residents of Kisumu, Kenya’s third largest city, along with the Black Hammer Party, decided to hold this protest against the introduction of the sixth package of sanctions against Russia. This was reported to TASS by eyewitnesses of the event.
According to them, about a hundred people took to the streets of the city. In their hands they held posters in support of the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and criticized U.S. policy towards African countries.
The protesters claim that Western sanctions have a side effect on the Black Continent, as they prevent its countries from importing grain from Russia and thereby alleviating the food crisis in this part of the continent. This is in addition to the ban on other essential imports that improve the daily life of Kenyans.
