An eyesore to the rich but an open-air prison to anyone that can take a moment to think, Skid Row’s history and development have yet to come to an end.
As the system of white power continues to destroy itself, things will only get worse for the Colonized poor working class. And worse yet for the houseless.
Let’s go over some of the main issues facing the houseless community members of Skid Row before getting to some solutions.
Heavily policing started after the “Safer Cities Initiative” was put into place after being announced in 2006—a program that funneled money into the pig department so that they could patrol the blocks that make up Skid Row.
We can see the results of such useless programs below.
With the city doing what it does best (catering to the sellout and colonizer classes), non-profit organizations and the non-profit industrial complex have taken their place and just used Skid Row to fund their money-hungry foundations, leaving behind a mess of trash after providing them with the same junk food every week.
Cali Hammers cleaning the community with much praise and thanks from our folks
One community organizer we spoke with expressed frustrations with the white power state and its handling of Project Roomkey—another failed program meant to house the homeless during the pandemic. A shit-show followed with certain hotels taking the money and others having high rates of deaths.
A Skid Row community member told us she was “tired of pizza” that the non-profits were constantly serving and wanted some healthier alternatives.
Worse is the plumbing and street cleaning (really the lack of both).
Then there are those that come out to give out random supplies to our folks just giving out charity to stroke their own egos, the petty-bourgeois rich kid class which want to feel good about themselves.

That’s where the California Chapter of the Black Hammer Organization comes in. Building for our people over in Skid Row the power that was ripped away from them by the white power state, we’re not just another charitable/non-profit organization trynna make a quick buck out of our folks.
To empower our folks to take up their own leadership, to unite with their fellow community members regardless of whatever differences they have and to attack the problem at its root; this is the road to recovery for Skid Row.

We’re here to organize WITH our folks to solve the problems just mentioned and so they can defend themselves from the pigs that harass and kill them for the hell of it. Within the past few weeks we’ve already received plenty of love from our folks and they want in on the work.
Community members like Larue are ready to take on the task of revolution and others on the block are no stranger to revolution either!

As we continue organizing for and with our folks, community clean-ups and care package distributions are just the beginning for our California Hammers as well as Skid Row.
If you’re reading from California, what are you waiting for? Take up your own leadership and build for those that need it most instead of for individualistic desires that the colony has created for us like chasing the bag, getting that new car or “owning” a house. Be part of the movement that’ll get Colonized people worldwide free from the shackles of white power!
