Rest in power and love to Daunte Wright, whose life was cut short by this colonial system and the rebranded ku klux klan that we call the pigs. After a bulls**t traffic stop for having air fresheners on his rear-view mirror, he was shot by a pig point-blank after she allegedly mistook her firearm for her taser. This despite her having been a pig for 26 years of her pathetic, miserable, crakkker life. Daunte then drove some distance, incapacitated by the bullet, and crashed his car. He died on the scene.
Like clockwork, this murder was followed by a media defamation campaign around Wright. Photos of him with a gun and his past legal troubles were circulated almost immediately as “justification” even though they had no relevance to this incident. What followed was a resignation of the pig that shot him and the pig chief of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
This is nothing new under the sun. White power colonialism continues to murder Africans and other Colonized people on stolen land—we have another long hot summer on the way.
The Colonized people in the Minneapolis area are still dealing with the fallout from the uprisings of last Summer, sparked by the murder of George Floyd. This murder happened in the same Colonized community; Floyd’s partner was actually Daunte’s teacher at one point. Daunte was shot only 10-15 minutes from where Floyd was lynched last year and where the trial of the white supremacist pig who killed him is currently happening.
Tensions in the area are already at a boiling point and the state knew this. In preparation for the outcome of the trial, the state had its colonial military ready to be deployed to the area. However, with the uprisings in honor of Daunte, they must have been elated to get a chance to terrorize the Colonized community even earlier than expected.
These uprisings are a beautiful show of the spirit of resistance that Colonized people have. However, as revolutionaries, we must recognize that without organization these demonstrations are nothing but adventurism and are dangerous. Black Hammer wants to see justice for Daunte just like almost all other African and Colonized people do, but we know that no type of justice will come from the colony which has been built and survives on the abuse and exploitation of the Colonized masses—not just in the imperial core, but all over the world.

The state took away a loved member of the community. He was a son, a friend, a father—the generational trauma only continues as his child will have to grow up knowing their father was taken by this hell of a colonial system. Black Hammer sends our deepest condolences to Wright’s family and we hope that they come to the realization that true justice for their son and all Colonized people will never come from the state. True justice can only come with the overturning of the primary contradiction and Black Hammer’s Principle of Unity #3 tells us the root of all Colonized people’s problems—the boot on all of our necks—is colonialism.
No amount of money that the state throws at them will bring Daunte back. No amount of money that gets thrown at them will stop the pigs from killing Colonized people at will. Receiving money that is already owed to the descendants of Africans who were forced to build and maintain this colony will not act as a shield from white power. The only protection from white power is Colonized organization, unity, and leadership.
At Black Hammer, we have studied the state and how it operates. We know that this state is, and always has been, organized to kill and genocide Colonized people. With that knowledge, it would be foolish to think that we can overturn state violence without dual-contending organization. And that’s just what we have.
