7 Million Venezuelans Served Through CLAP

By Social Media Committee

On March 12, 2016, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela president, Nicolás Maduro, created the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) to deal with the economic war fueled by colonial & neocolonial powers that continue to cause inflation and a shortage of food and resources.

The first Committee ensured that food for the people is distributed through organized popular power and was the first of many developments for the economic revolution at the grassroots level. Some other CLAPs have strengthened the country’s production, such as the Fishing Committee, Protein Committee, and Textile Committee.

At the beginning of their distribution, the products were imported due to forced hoarding by the country’s private companies. However, as of 2020, 80 percent of the CLAPs come from national production, from which 7 million Venezuelan families benefit!

According to reports, back-breaking sanctions against Venezuela have shrunk the government’s revenue by 99%. The need, therefore, for self-reliance has been more important than ever for the revolutionary nation. Similar lessons were learned long ago by Cuba, a sister nation to Venezuela, which continues to boost its agricultural industry and get around the u.s. Blockade.

Black Hammer salutes President Nicolas Maduro & the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for their dedication in winning self-determination for their people! These developments expose the real cost of colonial sanctions. Starving millions of people is not a “peaceful” alternative to direct military invasion. It is another form of warfare, a means of causing mass suffering which the united snakes imposes on a combined total of one third of the global population, affecting 39 countries.

More importantly, Venezuela shows how to overcome this genocide: with the power of colonized unity through organization! Together, we can provide for our communities as we work to destroy this parasitic system. Long live the Bolivarian Revolution!
