Sir Brandon Legette is a young African man who the Columbia, South Carolina pigs shot twice in the back of the head, then sent to jail when he survived the assassination attempt.
Through people’s power and struggle, Sir Brandon is now FREE. Still, he and his family need material support for him to stay free. Contribute directly to the Legette family via Cash App

Throughout August 2019, the Columbia pigs, led by Pig Chief Sean Rollins, harassed Sir Brandon Legette. They trespassed to steal the license plate off Sir Brandon’s vehicle while he worked. A week later, they waited outside his 2nd job at Food Lion and stopped him when he got off work at 2:30 a.m. for a “traffic violation”: missing tags – the tags they stole from his vehicle.
The pigs escalated the traffic stop: one of them forced his way into Sir Brandon’s vehicle while it was still in drive, commandeering the wheel and hitting the gas in order to maneuver the car into the back of Food Lion, where there were no security cameras. Once out of camera’s range, the cop crashed Sir Brandon’s car and proceeded to assault and pistol whip him before shooting him twice in the back of the head, execution-style.
After shooting Sir Brandon in the head, the pig grabbed him by his collar and threw him out of his own car. The pig proceeded to lay down on the ground, faking an injury, and Sir Brandon heard him conspiring with the other cop to fabricate a story to falsely incriminate him as he bled out on the ground.
Black Hammer does not usually describe events in a mystical way, but it was nothing short of a miracle Sir Brandon survived this cowardly and racist assassination attempt from the Columbia pigs. However, the abuse from the state was far from over.
Sir Brandon was transported to the hospital, but his mother, Ms. Robbin Legette, was never notified. She found out on the 6 o’clock news.
She immediately drove 1.5 hours to the hospital, where Sir Brandon was being illegally held in the prisoner’s unit under illegitimate pig custody. Ms. Robbin was denied all information pertaining to her son, who the hospital and pigs referred only to by a number, and never by name. They refused to let her see her son.

Sir Brandon was transferred directly from the hospital to the jail. For months, he remained locked up in Alvin S. Glenn detention center. His “crime”: surviving a literal assassination attempt from the pigs and the illegitimate white nationalist state.
Listen to Sir Brandon’s story in his own words at 2:07 of this video of Black Hammer’s weekly rally, where Sir Brandon and Ms. Robbin were welcomed as honored guests.
This attempted murder of our brother Sir Brandon is not an isolated event. It proves the true purpose of the pigs in amerikkka. Their role is to violently maintain the white power capitalist-imperialist ruling class through the systematic genocide of African and Colonized people.
We see this over and over: George Floyd, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile, Sandra Bland, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice — the lists go on and on and may they all rest in power.
The story is only different because this time #BrandonSurvived, and he lives to tell the tale of the cowardly and racist attempt on his life. This is why the system was determined to keep him incarcerated, so he could not speak this truth.
In February 2020, Black Hammer organized a #BrandonSurvived protest outside of the Columbia, South Carolina Pig Department to raise awareness about what occurred.

The Black Hammer Organization also began a petition which gathered over 500 signatures. As the Coronavirus pandemic escalated, Black Hammer released demands that Sir Brandon Legette be released. Due to health concerns, combined with close quarters and lack of access to proper hygiene and resources, Sir Brandon’s illegitimate incarceration was looking more like a death sentence. Black Hammer also organized a phone zap around this demand.
In response to this community pressure and strength of the people’s power, the Columbia courts granted Sir Brandon’s bail: $250,000, which was reduced to $100,000 (10% of which was $10,000). On May 26 2020, Ms. Robbin posted this bail and Sir Brandon walked out of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

We celebrate with the Legette family in this historic victory and are overjoyed that Sir Brandon is free and home. But the struggle is not over.
What is this ‘freedom’ if the Legette family is still shackled by the financial burden of this ordeal? Capitalism dictates that the Legettes should PAY for Sir Brandon surviving an assassination attempt and PAY for the continued surveillance of the state. In addition to the $10,000 bail, there are the costs of legal representation for Sir Brandon, the GPS ankle bracelet for his probation ($183 upfront + $9/day), and gas money to go to and from the courts.
As of June 15 2020, the Black Hammer Organization has contributed $3,900 to the Legette family, as not a penny should come from the Legette family’s pockets to pay this illegitimate system which imprisoned Sir Brandon for being shot twice in the back of the head.
Black Hammer will never ask a politician, a mayor, a corporation, or the pigs for anything. We ask you, The People: Show up for the Legette family. Funds sent to Cash App $SirBrandonSurvived and their Paypal go directly to the family for these costs.
But the struggle must not stop there; this struggle must culminate into a revolution. As members of the Black Hammer Organization, we understand that every African and Colonized person incarcerated by the united snakes of amerikkka is illegitimately incarcerated, because they are arrested, tried, sentenced, and imprisoned by this illegitimate settler white nationalist state who are their colonizers, not their peers.
The only way to overturn this contradiction is to overturn the contradictions of capitalism, colonialism, and imperialism. And the only way to do that is through REVOLUTION: the destruction of this system and the building of a world where no one lives at the expense of another.
We are building a world where there are no pigs terrorizing, brutalizing, and murdering our people, and we need you to join.
We salute Sir Brandon Legette for his bravery, we salute Ms. Robbin Legette for her strength, and we vow in their honor to create this world.
BLACK POWER!
Update: Ms. Robbin wishes to extend her thanks and gratitude to everyone that has participated or will participate in the #BrandonSurvived movement. Black Power!
